My First Attempt
The whole concept of putting your thoughts down for the world to see has been hard for me to understand. I guess maybe it has a greater theraputic value that way...? I don't know what I will write on my blog, but I have been reading so much about it lately that I have been motivated to give it a try!
I have worked for a computer software company for over 16 years now. Don't be impressed-- it's not as exiting as it sounds! Our company develops utility management software! I guess someone has to do it, right? I know more about water billing than I ever cared to know. The upside to it is that I have met a lot of nice people from lots of other states through the years. Our customers get a lot of TLC through our support team and we become long distance friends over time. Some of our customers have been using our software for 20 years! Several have gone out of their way while on vacation to come by our office so they can meet us in person. It really makes you feel like you have accomplished something worthwhile to have such loyal customers.
Another benefit is that I have learned to use a lot of applications at work due to the various jobs thrown my way! I do tech support for our software packages, in addition to being the Administrative Assistant. In other words, if it needs to be done and no one else wants to do it, then it becomes my job. I do all the bookkeeping for the company, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, shipping, software testing and debugging, telephone support, create forms for our software, and even create our ads! At least I don't have time to be bored at work!
Speaking of being bored, I'll bet whoever is reading this is pretty bored about now! I make no promises to be entertaining in this blog! Until the next time I feel like writing something for the world to read...
